Spoof/ Parody:
this is sometimes called a send-up or a lampoon. spoof are made in a way that the originally genre is there due to the film that it's mocking but removes so element from that genre for example 'scary movie' have removed the element of anything be actually scary. Spoof/Parody's are films that mock other films to make it funny
Anchorage:
Fixing of meaning e.g the copy text anchors (i.e fixes to one spot) the meaning of an image (for instance, a single rose, that could be used for an ad for anything from a dating agency to a funeral home) in a print advertisement


Mise en scene:
What can bee seen in the film, for example: costume, lighting, actor’s positions, make up, props and setting.   

Ideology:
A set of ideas or beliefs which are held to be acceptable by the creators of a media text.

A combination of two different genres in a film for example romantic and comedy are two separate genres but together make Rom-Com.

Low-key lighting:
Low key light accentuates the contours of an object by throwing areas into shade while a fill light or reflector may illuminate the shadow areas to control contrast.

Enigma code:
A question that creates a narrative and draws the viewers in

Endorsement:
when some one gives support to something and publicly show their approval

Monochrome:
Black and White

Genre:
 A way of categorizing a media text according to its form, style and content.
